Duygu Balan, LPCC, MS Ed provides psychotherapy for individuals and couples addressing: trauma, depression, anxiety, relational issues, parenting, coping skills and stage of life problems.

She is trained in school and college level counseling, and is bilingual English/Turkish.

Duygu has worked as a therapist at one of New York State's most prominent Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). 

She dedicated numerous years assisting the community with her outreach and counseling of the homeless, mentally ill, and substance using populations on the margins of society. 

She has provided counseling and emotional support to individuals at the clinics connected to the university hospital of Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.

Duygu recently authored a chapter on personality disorders for the best selling medical textbook "Big Book of Emergency Department Psychiatry" and provides seminars and workshops internationally.

Duygu incorporates an existential, humanistic and client centered, trauma informed approach. With couples, she integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy informed techniques. With families and parents she draws from attachment theory and utilizes the positive discipline model. 

She believes in the connection of the mind, body and sprit and uses a holistic treatment approach that combines western therapeutic techniques with ancient healing practices.

With authenticity, intuition, empathic listening, and humor, she meets her clients where they are in healing.
